diplom_mihaylov_a_e.jpgAndrey Mikhailov, the Deputy Chief Engineer for Operational and Process Management of the Central Production office of Orenburgenergo Branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC (a member of the Rosseti), took part in the Regional Engineering Technician Day and in XV Regional Engineering Skill Contest.

Defense of the project “Mobile Station for Monitoring Icing on the Power Transmission Overhead Lines (PTOHL) and Flood Situation Near Power Facilities” was presented by the power engineer for discussion by the contest commission. The mobile station which is a device mounted with two transformers, GSM MMS camera and a “smart socket” may be installed in places where there is frequent icing on the PTOHL or there is a risk of flooding of power facilities during flooding. Using the “smart socket” one may remotely connect and disconnect a power floodlight which makes it possible to monitor the environment at night in places where the mobile device is installed. As requested by the dispatcher the camera takes a snapshot of the inspection point and sends the MMS-message to the dispatcher’s work computer. Besides, the mobile unit may perform a function of security of the power facilities.

- The advantage of my development is that, firstly, the dispatcher may quickly and remotely receive visual information from the inspection points, and secondly, thanks to the mobile device the operating team will not have to visit the site, - says Andrey Mikhailov.

The event was organized by Orenburg Regional Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs jointly with the Government of Orenburg region and Federation of Trade Unions of Orenburg region. Engineers and technicians of the leading enterprises of Orenburg region became the Contest participants. All in all 16 projects in the nomination “Best Innovative Project” were applied.
